San Diego, Calif. – September 30, 2025 – ObjectSecurity, a leader in solving complex, evolving defense and industrial cybersecurity and supply chain risk challenges, today announced that it has been selected for a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract from the US Space Force.

Based on the original solicitation entitled, “Resilient Military Communications (MilCom) – Enhancing MILSATCOM Resilience through Virtualization, Ground Architecture, Situational Awareness, and Data Management” [1], the Phase II SBIR focuses on enhancing MILSATCOM resilience by developing advanced, deployable technologies that align with U.S. Space Force (USSF) mission objectives and operational imperatives. As stated in the solicitation – “The Department of the Air Force (DAF) seeks advanced, deployable technologies that enhance resilience, flexibility, and efficiency within MILSATCOM networks, ensuring secure and continuous operations under all conditions.” [1]

The project titled “ORION (Orbital Rogue Identification and Operational Intelligence)” [2], carried out by ObjectSecurity LLC, aims for successful technology development, USAF/DoD fielding and commercialization that will result in uninterrupted operational effectiveness despite adversarial interference, degraded networks, and evolving threats. Current mitigation is largely manual: an operator notices a drop in carrier-tonoise, hunts for the source and commands a rerouteoften a minute or more after the first packets have been lost. ORION introduces a softwareonly gateway plugin that automates that entire loop. [2].

ObjectSecurity LLC will research and develop a number of innovative approaches including Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science (DS) services, as well as advanced binary analysis, to identify and alert cybersecurity vulnerabilities and anomalies, as well as operational anomalies, such as network, storage or processing issues before actual system failures occur.

“The Phase II SBIR award marks a significant achievement for ObjectSecurity, highlighting the robustness of our scientific innovation, which has successfully passed a rigorous peer review process,” said Ulrich Lang, CEO of ObjectSecurity. “This award enables us to focus on critical research and development for USAF and other stakeholders. SBIR contracts provide us the opportunity to explore advanced concepts, which in turn accelerate product development, allowing us to commercialize groundbreaking technologies that will deliver substantial value to USAF and our customers across DoD, the Government, and various industries.”

“The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs are highly competitive programs that encourage domestic small businesses to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) with the potential for commercialization. Through a competitive awards-based program, SBIR and STTR enable small businesses to explore their technological potential and provide the incentive to profit from its commercialization. By including qualified small businesses in the nation’s R&D arena, high-tech innovation is stimulated, and the United States gains entrepreneurial spirit as it meets its specific research and development needs.” [3]
