San Diego, CA – September 25, 2025 – Advanced HPC, a leading provider of high-performance computing solutions, has adopted ObjectSecurity’s BinLens™ 4.0 to strengthen software supply chain security across the systems it delivers to customers. By analyzing compiled software for vulnerabilities before deployment, BinLens gives Advanced HPC an additional layer of assurance for third-party, commercial, and open-source software—even when source code is unavailable.

By integrating BinLens into their process, Advanced HPC continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering the highest quality, performance, and security to its customers.

BinLens, developed with U.S. Department of Defense funding, BinLens is an automated binary vulnerability analysis platform designed to identify security flaws in compiled software, including vulnerabilities that may not yet have a published CVE. BinLens analyzes compiled software to identify potentially exploitable conditions—including memory-safety violations and other undefined behaviors—without relying solely on signatures, published CVEs, or access to source code. For Advanced HPC, this capability is particularly valuable because its systems can incorporate a broad mix of commercial, open-source, and specialized software. BinLens provides a way to examine those software components at the binary level before they reach customers, adding another security checkpoint to Advanced HPC’s integration and delivery process.

“Advanced HPC’s adoption of BinLens reinforces our proactive commitment to supply chain security”, said Toni Falcone, President of Advanced HPC. “By going beyond traditional integration and addressing the risks hidden in software components, Advanced HPC sets itself apart from others in the industry — providing customers with enhanced protection and greater confidence in the solutions they deploy.”

Advanced HPC’s integration of ObjectSecurity’s BinLens highlights the growing need for automated binary vulnerability analysis across the technology supply chain. BinLens addresses this challenge by automating the complex, time-consuming, and skill-intensive analysis of binary software vulnerabilities — without requiring access to the original source code.

“System integrators increasingly inherit software risk from components they did not develop and often cannot inspect at the source-code level,” said Dr. Ulrich Lang, CEO of ObjectSecurity. “Advanced HPC is addressing that challenge by adding automated binary analysis to its security process. BinLens gives integrators a practical way to examine the software they deliver and identify vulnerabilities that traditional supply chain security approaches may not uncover.”

“BinLens uses automated symbolic execution to examine how compiled software behaves and identify conditions that can lead to security vulnerabilities,” said Trevor Thomas, lead developer for BinLens. “This allows us to uncover issues such as memory-safety violations and other undefined behaviors without requiring source code, making the technology particularly useful for third-party, legacy, and embedded software.”

This approach complements conventional software security controls. SBOM and CVE-based tools are valuable for identifying known risks associated with software components, while source-code analysis requires access to the underlying code. While BinLens includes those features, it sets itself apart from conventional tools by adding another layer by analyzing the compiled binary itself, helping identify vulnerabilities that may not yet be documented in public vulnerability databases.

By incorporating BinLens into its software assurance process, Advanced HPC is extending security beyond component inventories and known-vulnerability checks to the software binaries themselves. The adoption demonstrates how HPC providers and system integrators can apply automated binary analysis as an additional layer of software supply chain assurance before systems reach their customers.
